I started my college career at Southern Union in Opelika. After two years I transfered to Auburn University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I earned my master's degree in Elementary Education at Troy State University-Phenix City and my school librarian certification at Auburn University.

I taught fourth grade in Phenix City, Alabama for five and a half years. I left my job there to be the school librarian at W.O. Lance Elementary. I worked there for a year and a half, then moved to Lanett Junior High. I became the librarian at Lanett High School four years ago.

I have three spoiled dogs. Murphy is an eight year old Boxer/Chow mix. He loves to chase tennis balls. Hazel is a seven year old Boxer/English Setter mix. She loves to chase bees. Our newest family member is Rupert a three year old Bulldog mix. He loves to give hugs. All of them were rescued from a shelter.

My mom and my stepfather live in Valley. She works for Auburn University. I have one sister; she is six years younger than me. She is also a librarian, but a public librarian, not a school librarian. She lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is only a few minutes from the beach!
