LHS and LJHS will host Multicultural Family Night: A Hispanic Heritage Fiesta on Monday, October 14th, from 4:30-6:30 PM in the LHS Gym. LHS & LJHS Students who participate will receive 5 bonus points for a test of their choice, excluding 9-week exams. We want to give a big Panther WELCOME to our newest teacher, Mr. Eric Scotch! Mr. Scotch lives in Auburn with his daughter and son, but he is originally from Lockport, NY. Before becoming a teacher, he spent many years in the medical field, first in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, and later as a medical assistant and LPN. He graduated from Buffalo State College and began his teaching career in Florida. He is passionate about working with young adults teaching them about literature and the English language. The Student Council is holding a Hurricane Supply Drive from Wed.,1 0/2-Fri., 10/4. Supplies will be donated to The Valley Local Organization and sent to North Carolina. Items must be new & in the original package. Volleyball Senior Night is TONIGHT! Come out to support our Lady Panthers as we take on Reeltown, beginning at 5:30 PM.

You can also pay cash at the gate. There are NO PASSES OUT. Guests who leave will have to purchase a new ticket to enter again. 🔻🔻Homecoming Court Presentation UPDATE🔻🔻 The Homecoming Court will arrive by car and meet their escorts outside the lobby beginning at 6:45 PM. After the court enters the gym, guests will be allowed to enter free of charge. The crowning of the King and Queen will begin immediately, so guests are asked to sit quickly. After the crowning ceremony, we invite all guests to proceed to the game. Tickets are $8. A Schoology tile has been created for all court representatives. Please check that for your instructions.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! ➜The PreACT assessment will be administered to ALL TENTH GRADERS on Tuesday, October 1st . ➜Please make sure your child is present on Tuesday, October 1st. It is imperative that students arrive on time for school, as testing will start at the beginning of the school day. ➜We recommend that students get plenty of rest the night before and have a good breakfast the morning of testing. ➜Students may bring a #2 pencil and calculator ONLY. No other items are allowed in the testing rooms. ➜We also want to take a moment to remind you that digital devices are not allowed in the testing room. Possessing a digital device (including but not limited to cell phones, smart watches, MP3 players, cameras, or other telecommunication devices capable of capturing or relaying information) is strictly prohibited during testing. Students are required to place digital devices in their lockers or turn them in to the principal’s office. If students are in possession of a digital device, whether powered on or off, during testing, the device will be confiscated, and the student’s test will be invalidated. Violations may result in disciplinary action.

📢ATTENTION 📢 Due to the rain affecting our football field, we are relocating our Homecoming Court activities to the LHS Gymnasium. These activities will begin promptly at 7:15 PM. The Homecoming Court will arrive in their cars and exit at the steps. Then all family and friends will be admitted to the gym at no charge. Our Senior Male Representatives are Corde’ Askew, Jaquarius Billingsley, Ke’ondae Huguley, and Christopher King. One of these gentlemen will be crowned 2024 Homecoming King. Our Senior Female Representatives are Anaid Ramos Gamez, Nikirreya Reese, Tyra Jackson, and MaKia White. TOMORROW! LIGHT UP THE BULLDOGS! 💛🖤 On Friday, September 20th, students will be allowed to dress down in either Black/Gold/Panther attire OR fluorescent, AKA Neon, colors (Must follow the dress-down day guidelines on page 16 of the Student Handbook). Student Council members will paint faces and sell glow-in-the-dark accessories before school and during Enrichment tomorrow. 💛🖤 All students can dress down, but to attend the Pep Rally, students must meet the following criteria: No referrals, unexcused absences, or tardies to school or class during the week of September 16-20.
